INTERNATIONAL PUTRA BAKTI @YOUTH DIGITAL 2025 HOPED TO CREATE A SIGNIFICANT IMPACT

BINTULU: The International Putra Bakti @Youth Digital 2025 program is expected to have a significant impact on the development of the digital entrepreneurship ecosystem among youth while promoting the use of innovative technology in education and society.

The program’s advisor, Roslan Ismail, stated that this initiative is a proactive step in equipping the younger generation with relevant digital skills, thus supporting the growth of Malaysia’s digital economy.

"Through this program, we also hope to empower youth through the use of technology and innovation in digital entrepreneurship," he said in a statement today.

He was commenting on the program organized by students of the QKK2101 Bakti Siswa Credit Co-Curricular Course (Group 2), Second Semester of the 2024/2025 Academic Session, Universiti Putra Malaysia Bintulu Campus (UPMKB). The event was held on March 1 and 2 at the TEGAS Digital Innovation Hub Bintulu.

According to Roslan, the hybrid program received an overwhelming response from 150 participants, including physical and online attendees from Brunei, Indonesia, Nigeria, and China.

The program was held in strategic collaboration with the Tabung Ekonomi Gagasan Anak Sarawak (TEGAS), Konsortium Universiti Universitas Borneo (KUUB), and Youth Leadership and Entrepreneurship (YLE) 2025.

With the theme "Empowering Youth: Digital Forward," the program served as a platform for youth and students to plan and implement activities related to digital entrepreneurship with a comprehensive face-to-face learning approach.

He noted that this aligns with the Industry 4.0 revolution and artificial intelligence (AI) in efforts to strengthen the digital world.

For the first time, the program featured a keynote speech by Associate Professor Dr. Mohd Mursyid Arshad, Director of the Co-Curriculum and Student Development Centre, Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM). His session, titled "The Role of AI in Youth-Adult Partnership for Digital Literacy," emphasized the importance of AI in enhancing collaboration between youth and adults to improve digital literacy among the younger generation.

He also highlighted the need to cultivate the Jiwa Putra spirit in alignment with UPM's True North vision of "Best Living and Learning Experience."

Additionally, the program featured six main slots with experienced speakers covering various aspects of digital entrepreneurship and technology.

Among those present at the event were Tn. Haji Fakhzan Haji Buang, Honorary Secretary-General of KUUB and Deputy Chairman of YLE UPMKB, who represented the Campus Director; Cik Shakinah Asniza Mortadza, representing the Chief Executive Officer of TEGAS; Dr. Rozzamri Ashari, Deputy Director of the Co-Curriculum and Student Development Centre (PKPP) UPM; Dr. Suhaili Mustafa, Head of the Innovation Cluster KUUB; and Nur Asyiqin Zaidi, Chief Coordinator of YLE UPMKB.
